Ring 一 Acquired by Amazon for $1.2B

Nest 一 Acquired by Google for $3.2B

If you missed out on these spectacular early investments in the Smart Home space, here’s your chance to grab hold of the next one.

RYSE is a tech firm poised to dominate the Smart Shades market (growing at an astonishing 55% annually), and their public offering of shares priced at just $1.50 has opened.

They have generated over 20X growth in share price for early shareholders, with significant upside remaining as they just launched in over 100 Best Buy stores.

Retail distribution was the main driver behind the acquisitions of both Ring and Nest, and their exclusive deal with Best Buy puts them in pole position to dominate this burgeoning industry.

Investing and Finance

This week, we delve into pressing economic and business issues shaping our world. An insightful piece explores whether having more time, as Europeans do, or more money, like Americans, leads to a better life. Federal Reserve Chair Jay Powell signals interest rates will remain higher for longer in the fight against inflation. We breakdown the first US bank failure of 2024 and what you need to know. A personal finance perspective is offered on why one investor avoids real estate.

On the corporate front, Coca-Cola earnings pop on higher prices and strong Latin American demand, while McDonald's feels the impacts of inflation as consumers watch spending. Behind the scenes, Apple's failed car project was a disaster. Pfizer stock gets a boost from better-than-expected earnings, even as the Fed holds interest rates steady to combat stubbornly high inflation.

In the tech sphere, Microsoft signs a massive $10 billion+ deal for renewable energy to power its data centers. Remarkably, the world's richest man just surpassed a $200 billion fortune milestone. An eventful week indeed across economics, policy, and big business.

Book of the week

"Autobiography of a Yogi" is a spiritual classic that chronicles Yogananda's fascinating life journey and encounters with enlightened yogis and saints. Written with profound insight yet refreshing candor, it offers an engaging blend of practical wisdom and riveting stories. Yogananda's experiences provide a compelling glimpse into India's ancient traditions of yoga and meditation. The book introduces powerful truths regarding the unity of all life and the ability to commune with God through disciplined self-effort.

Yogananda's meetings with his guru Sri Yukteswar are particularly illuminating, revealing the immense potential of the human mind. His narration of miracles he witnessed, while extraordinary, is balanced by his scientific approach and discerning outlook. The autobiography is not just a journey through Yogananda's life but a journey within, inspiring seekers to discover their own divine nature. Yogananda's lucid writing style makes complex philosophical concepts accessible and his sense of humor keeps the narrative lively.

Although rooted in the spiritual traditions of India, the book's universal teachings transcend barriers of race and creed. An insightful introduction to yoga philosophy and practices, the book has been a perennial source of inspiration for spiritual seekers worldwide. With its high eminence and appeal, it's no wonder "Autobiography of a Yogi" is considered one of the most important spiritual autobiographies of the 20th century. A must-read for anyone seeking greater self-realization and a deeper understanding of life's profoundest truths.
